I used “Já Está” platform as my main source for preparing for my A2 exam. I have started in February with the goal of completing all 24 weeks before my scheduled exam in June. The platform enabled me to cover main topics that form the backbone of Portuguese language including numbers, alphabet, verbs formations, verbs tenses to name just a few.
Before learning about this platform, I tried learning Portuguese with just a book, a dictionary, and by listening Portuguese radio stations. Neither of these approaches was even close to the effect of emersion that I felt when using “Já Está”.
Each week brought a new area of focus and provided me with theoretical part where the teacher introduced the topic. After that, it moved to speaking, writing, and listening portions during subsequent classes. Each of these classes worked very well together providing wide range of opportunities to solidify the topic of the study. By completing each week, I felt the sense of accomplishment as I was able to feel comfortable with the covered area of the language.
I also enjoyed tests given at the end of each class and a week. These were great to review the material and identify weak areas in need of additional studies.
Finally, I loved the approach and the style of the teacher. The teacher used mostly Portuguese to explain the lessons yet inserted just enough English to prevent me from loosing her explanations.
I highly recommend to use “Já Está” platform regardless of your level of familiarity with Portuguese and your goals. Either as preparation tool for the exam or as a personal development project for learning this beautiful language, the platform will not disappoint.
